The Linn-Mar boys tennis team opened the season Saturday with a pair of victories over CIML opponents in the Des Moines area.

The Lions topped Dowling Catholic, 6-3, and defeated Waukee, 7-2.

Brady Anderson of Linn-Mar, the 2013 state singles champion, cruised by Jarrett Benson of Dowling in his first match, 6-0, 6-1. Anderson lost to Alex Brown of Waukee in a tiebreaker, 7-6, 1-6, 10-8.

Tim Paulson, Trevor McCann and Ben Myers won both of their singles matches for Linn-Mar.
