The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announced Wednesday that outfielder Zack Granite has been placed on the 7-day Disabled List, retroactive to April 7 and outfielder Jason Kanzler is joining the Kernels from Extended Spring Training.

The Twins selected Kanzler in the 20th round of the 2013 draft from the University of Buffalo. He played in 44 games with the Gulf Coast League Twins last season, batting .220 with six triples, three homers, 15 RBIs and 13 stolen bases in 14 attempts.

Granite was placed on the DL with a left rotator cuff strain. In four games for the Kernels, he is batting .313 (5-16) with an RBI.

Kanzler will join the Kernels Wednesday in Midland, Mich., and be available for Wednesday night's game with Great Lakes.
