DAVENPORT - The Quad Cities River Bandits belted Aaron Slegers and the Cedar Rapids Kernels Thursday night, 11-6, before 4,387 fans at Modern Woodmen Park.
Slegers (4-2) has been an effective pitcher for the Kernels much of the season, but the Bandits had a field day against the 6-foot-10 right-hander with 13 hits and 10 runs (nine earned) in just three rough innings.
Slegers saw his earned run average climb to 5.19. The River Bandits scored six runs against Slegers in the third inning.
Mitch Garver, Bryan Haar and Jason Kanzler had two hits for Cedar Rapids (22-25). Garver drove in two runs. Kanzler hit a solo home run.
