APPLETON, Wis. - Wisconsin used a five-run fifth inning to take command and pull aeay for a 7-4 Midwest League win over the Cedar Rapids Kernels Thursday night before a crowd of 3,702 at Fox Cities Stadium.
Michael Ratterree homered in the fifth for Wisconsin (28-31). Josue Montanez (1-4) took the loss in relief for Cedar Rapids as he was touched for all five runs in the inning.
Engelb Vielma, Michael Quesada and Bo Altobelli each had a pair of hits for Cedar Rapids (27-33).
The two teams conclude the three-game series on Friday at 7:05 p.m.
