Marion tourney ends in 3-way tie

Everybody went home with something to feel good about Saturday from the Heald-Jackson baseball tournament at Marion.
All three teams in the round-robin event finished with 1-1 records.
Marion topped Prairie, 8-3. Prairie edged Burlington, 5-4, in eight innings. And Burlington defeated Marion 16-5.
Marion collected 14 hits in the opening game. Freshman Maverick Miller led the Indians with four hits, including two doubles. David Kuhn, Logan Fuller and Quinn Cannoy added two hits.
Zach Miller and freshman Owen Carstensen combined on a five-hitter with five strikeouts.
Burlington exploded for 10 runs in the first inning and cruised to its 16-5 victory over Marion. Christian Stekl hit a three run homer for Marion in the fourth inning.
