WATERLOO - The Waterloo Blackhawks defeated the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, 6-2, in a USHL preseason hockey game Saturday night before 1,530 fans at Young Arena in Waterloo.

The Blackhawks scored five goals in the second period to take command.

Andrew Gaus and Tyler Sheehy scored goals for the RoughRiders. Ben Blacker allowed all six goals in the first two periods. Ryan Larkin moved into goal for the third period for Cedar Rapids and pitched a shutout.
