Kyle Lamaak and Liz Mosbach of Mount Mercy have been named Athletes of the Week by the Midwest Collegiate Conference.

Lamaak had two big games for the Mount Mercy men's basketball team as the 18th-ranked Mustangs won twice last week. He scored 18 points against Viterbo and poured in a career-best 26 points in a victory at William Penn.

Lamaak shot 78.3 percent from the field and grabbed 10 rebounds as Mount Mercy raised its winning streak to eight straight games. Lamaak is a 6-foot-4 junior from Kennedy and is a part of a strong bench for the Mustangs.

Mosbach, a junior from Ladd, Ill., was named the MCC Athlete of the Week in women's track. She won the 600 meter run at the Wisconsin-Platteville Open in 1:38.78 and placed second in the long jump at 16-9.75. She also helped the Mustangs finish second in the 4x400 relay.
