OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Linn-Mar High School graduates Austin Stroschein and Justin Wyant were the winning pitchers Friday as Johnson County Community College swept Kirkwood, 7-2 and 4-1, in a doubleheader in Overland Park, Kan.

Stroschein tossed a complete game in the 7-2 victory. He allowed two runs on seven hits, with seven strikeouts and one walk.

Wyant pitched five innings in the second game. He allowed one run on two hits, with seven strikeouts and three walks.

Brandon Brittain had a triple and two hits for Kirkwood in the opener. Randy Perez had two doubles for Kirkwood in the second game as the Eagles began the season with a pair of setbacks.

Xavier grad Nick Drahozal pitched 5.1 strong innings for Kirkwood in the second game. He allowed one earned run on four hits, with six strikeouts and no walks.

The two teams are scheduled to play a single game on Saturday.
