Herb nets 30 as Mustangs belt GV

Abbie Herb poured in 30 points in 24 minutes Saturday as Mount Mercy belted Grand View, 76-56, in the final game of the regular season at the Hennessey Recreation Center.

The Mustangs denied Grand View from claiming the outright regular-season title in the Midwest Collegiate Conference. Grand View tied for first place with St. Ambrose with 9-3 records, while Mount Mercy tied Clarke for third place at 8-4.

Herb shot 11-for-19 from the field and was 7-for-9 at the foul line with one 3-pointer. The Cedar Rapids Washington graduate also grabbed eight rebounds and had three assists.

Alisa Weiland scored 12 points for the Mustangs (17-13). Christa Oldham finished with 10 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Makenzie Zeitler grabbed 11 rebounds.

Renise Collier collected 15 points and 15 rebounds for Grand View (13-17).
