DAVENPORT -- Jefferson was held to two hits in a 10-0, six-inning loss to Davenport Central on Wednesday.

Central's TJ Meyer had two hits and drove in four runs for the Blue Devils. Starting pitcher Bryan Christensen allowed only two hits and struck out six in five innings for the win.

Central scored four unearned runs in the first inning, then tacked on five more in fourth. Meyer had a two-run double in the first inning and two-run single in the fourth.

Jefferson (1-4) lost its third game in two nights. The J-Hawks were swept by Prairie on Tuesday. They were outscored 36-6 in the three games.

Jeffferson plays at Washington on Thursday night in a sophomore/varsity doubleheader. The teams meet again Friday in the same format at Jefferson. First game each night is 5 p.m.
