Wash girls fall to No. 13 Tigers

The Washington girls basketball team struggled in the first half and lost to the 13th-ranked Cedar Falls Tigers, 63-52, Tuesday at Washington.

Jessi Puk scored 11 points and Annie Visser and Jayla Johnson added 10 apiece to lead the Warriors (3-1).

Cedar Falls led 11-6 after the first quarter and 26-16 at halftime.

Emma Gerdes had 25 points for the Tigers (4-0).

CEDAR FALLS (63): Johnson 3 0-1 6, Gerdes 5 14-18 25, Becker 3 1-2 9, Conrad 0 1-2 1, Barney 3 4-4 10, Wolf 6 0-0 12. Totals 20 20-27 63.

WASHINGTON (52): Clark 2 2-3 7, Visser 4 1-3 10, V.Eniola 2 0-0 5, B.Hoeger 0 0-0 0, M.Hoeger 0 0-0 0, Bruner 3 0-1 7, Puk 4 1-2 11, Riley 0 0-0 0, Mia 1 0-0 2, Johnson 4 1-2 10. Totals 20 5-11 52.
