Mount Mercy women fall to C-S

Abby Herb scored 12 points with three blocks to lead the Mount Mercy women’s basketball team in a 63-47 loss to Culver-Stockton on Thursday at the Hennessey Recreation Center.

The Mustangs trailed 24-9 in the first half and never fully recovered, although they pulled within 28-24 at intermission.

Alisa Weiland and Sara Blowers each had nine points for Mount Mercy (5-8). Makenzie Zeitler had eight points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Brianna Marzette scored 16 points for Culver-Stockton (10-3), T.J. Hart had 15 and Randi Lee Plunket had 13 points and 14 rebounds.

CULVER-STOCKTON (63): Marzette 6 1-2 16, Hart 5 4-4 15, Plunkett 30 6-6 13, Kubinski 4 1-2 9, House 2 0-0 4, Farrish 0 3-4 3, Davis 1-4 0-0 2, Thompson 0 1-2 1, Finch 0 0-0 0, Helm 0 0-0 0. Totals 21 16-20 63.
