Ryan Harrington of Coe won both of his matches at the NCAA Division III wrestling tournament Friday and will compete in the semifinals Saturday morning at the U.S. Cellular Center.
Harrington defeated Jake Johnson of Concordia-Moorhead, 8-0, and trimmed Ethan Farmer of Wabash, 7-3, at 174 pounds.
Coe senior Farai Sewera, a defending national champion, lost to Connor Brummett of Wabash, 5-4, Friday and fell into the consolation bracket. He finished with a 3-1 record Friday and is alive for third place.
Jan Rosenberg of Coe compiled a 2-1 record Friday and also is alive for third place. Rosenberg won his first match, 13-2. He was pinned in the second round and won 17-11 in a wrestle-back.
Wartburg has taken a commanding lead in the team standings. Coe is tied for eighth place with 22 points.
