IOWA CITY - Sarah Abu-Nameh of Xavier finished sixth at the Class 1A  girls state tennis tournament Friday at the University of Iowa courts.

Abu-Nameh lost to Stephanie Bush of Davenport Assumption, 6-1, 6-2, in  the consolation match for fifth place.

Earlier in the day, Abu-Nameh topped Jacqueline Ingram of  Denison-Schleswig, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 to remain alive in the tournament.

Abu-Nameh compiled a 3-2 record at the state meet.
