MSR Photo Gallery offers photos for sale

Everybody loves pictures.

Moms and dads, aunts and uncles, grandparents, kids, cousins, neighbors and fans.

We launched the Metro Sports Report on Jan. 3, and ever since people have been asking how they can obtain copies of the pictures that we post on the website.

Now we have the answer.

The Metro Sports Report is proud to announce the launch of the MSR Photo Gallery, a new service that will give our readers an opportunity to purchase the pictures you see on our pages, along with many, many more photos that you haven't seen before.

We've posted only a tiny fraction of the pictures that our photographers have taken at high school sports events, because we didn't have room to show them all. The rest of those photos sat in a file, sight unseen by most people.

Until now.

Now we can post as many pictures as we want from each event on the MSR Photo Gallery. We can post dozens of pictures. We can post hundreds, if we want.

The Metro Sports Report is working with an innovative company called SmugMug to handle most of this for us. Our photographers simply post their pictures on the MSR Photo Gallery and the rest is handled automatically by SmugMug and the customer.

It's really very easy.

Simply go to msrphotogallery.smugmug.com to get started. That takes you to the home page, and from there you follow the easy step-by-step directions that guide you through the process.

You can also look for the MSR Photo Gallery ads that we've placed on all our pages, including the main home page. You can click on the ad and go straight to the MSR Photo Gallery, without having to type anything on your computer.

We have the pictures organized by sport, so this fall we have football, volleyball, golf, swimming and cross country. We'll add the winter, spring and summer sports as we go.

We also have categories that are labeled "special events" and "school spirit," to cover such things as the Zach Johnson Classic, bands, cheerleaders and fans.

Simply click on a sport or category to see the listings. Then click on a particular game or event to see all the pictures that we've posted for your enjoyment. The games and events are listed by date, for your convenience.

If you like something and want to order it, just click on the picture and place your order. You'll be asked for your name, address and billing information, so have a credit card handy.

You can order as many photos as you want, and you'll be able to see your order and make revisions.

We've kept the prices low and affordable. They start as low as $3 apiece, and none of the pictures cost more than $12. They sell for $3, $4, $5, $6, $9, $10, $11 or $12, depending on the size and type of paper you select.

You'll also have to pay shipping costs, and there are a variety of options for that. You also must pay sales tax. All of your personal information will be kept strictly confidential.

The pictures currently featured on the MSR Photo Gallery were taken by Ken Gilchrist and Margaret O'Banion, two of the best freelance photographers around. We plan to add more photographers as we move forward.

Margaret and Ken deserve credit for putting the MSR Photo Gallery together and making it possible.

We hope you enjoy this new feature. You asked, and we listened.

Enjoy.
