EPWORTH - The Cedar Rapids Prairie boys cross country team finished fifth at the Western Dubuque Bob Invitational Thursday despite using a makeshift varsity lineup.
Several of Prairie's top runners, including Jacob Aune and Mitch Pritts, did not compete in the race. Sophomore Ross Adams led the Hawks in eighth place overall in 17 minutes, 52 seconds.
Monticello won the team title with 33 points. Monticello sophomore Ben Ahlrich won the race in 17 minutes.
