MFL MARMAC 73, SIOUX CENTER 72 -- MFL MarMac's CJ Mason made three free throws in the final nine seconds for a four-point lead and the top-seeded Bulldogs held off No. 8 seed Sioux Center.

MFL MarMac (24-1) advances to Thursday's semifinals at 2 p.m. against Mount Vernon (21-4).

The Bulldogs held a one-point lead with 11 seconds left and had Jacob Dotzler at the free throw line for two shots. He missed both and Sioux Center's Steven Kragt grabbed the rebound.

But Sioux Center was assessed a technical foul because Beau Boer, who picked up his fifth foul that sent Dotzler to the line, was still on the court when Dotzler shot his free throws, making him an illegal player. After a conference at the scorers' bench, the technical foul was called.

Mason made both free throws for a 72-69 lead, then was fouled again after a Sioux Center turnover and made one of two shots for a 73-69 lead with eight seconds left. Sioux Center's Andrew O'Donnell hit a 3-pointer just before the buzzer.

Mason led a quartet of MFL scorers in double figures with 17 points. Dotzler had 13 points.

Boer led Sioux Center (18-7) with 15 points. O'Donnell had 14 and TJ Buyert added 12 points and 10 rebounds.
