Unbeaten Linn-Mar broke into the Class 3A girls soccer rankings at No. 8 Wednesday when the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released its polls.

The Lions are 7-0 but had not been ranked until this week.

Xavier held onto the top spot in Class 2A. The Saints suffered only their second loss of the season last Saturday, a 1-0 decision to Class 3A No. 6 Iowa City West.

Kennedy is ranked No. 5 in Class 3A.

Prairie moved up one spot to No. 11 in Class 2A.
