Megan Furnish of Jefferson and MJ Kamin of Washington have been named to the all-Metro girls golf team for 2012.

Furnish, a senior, placed fourth at the Class 4A state tournament this week. Kamin, a sophomore, tied for 12th at the state meet.

Julie Pople of Linn-Mar, Ali Lindo of Kennedy, Grace Winker of Xavier and Maddie Bertsch of Xavier joined Furnish and Kamin on the first team. All six golfers were unanimous selections by the Metro coaches.

Steve Kahler of Linn-Mar was named the Metro Coach of the Year.

Rachel Thrune (Linn-Mar), Emma Lorenz (Linn-Mar), Taylor Wertzberger (Xavier), Sadie Schultz (Kennedy), Kirsten Flugum (Prairie), CJ Davis (Linn-Mar), Ashley Reed (Marion).
