DES MOINES - Sarah Lasecki and Riley Galbraith of Cedar Rapids Kennedy placed second in the 2012 State Co-ed Tennis Tournament Tuesday in Des Moines.

Lasecki and Galbraith lost to Jessica King and Alex Qin of Ames, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 in a tiebreaker in the championship match to conclude a marathon day of tennis.

Katie Hammond and Mitchell Anderson of Cedar Rapids Washington were defeated by Mary Hill and Naveen Nath of Des Moines Roosevelt, 6-3, 6-3, in the consolation match for third place.

Lasecki and Galbraith clipped Hammond and Anderson, 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 in the semifinals.

The doubles teams of Lasecki/Galbraith and Hammond/Anderson played six matches in one day.
