DUBUQUE - Freshman Alexis Kelsey hit two home runs Thursday as the Linn-Mar Lions tripped Dubuque Wahlert, 11-9, in the first game of a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader in Dubuque.

The Lions also won the second game, 5-3.

Kelsey went 3-for-4 in the opener, scored four runs and collected five RBIs for Linn-Mar (13-14, 11-9). Maggie Rizor went 3-for-5 and drove in two runs. Cheyenne Hansen also drove in two runs and got the victory in relief.

Kelsey went 2-for-4 with three RBIs in the second game for the Lions. She finished the twinbill 5-for-8 with eight RBIs.

Kelsey Duggan, Georgia Kolf and Lauren Swanson had two hits apiece for Linn-Mar in the nightcap. Kelsey got the victory in relief.
