Jenks is a nationally ranked triathlete who also competes for the Linn-Mar swim team. She got a late start in the cross country season, but dominated the competition in her first race last Thursday in Cedar Rapids.

Shannon Gorman of Cedar Rapids Washington is ranked 10th in Class 4A in the new poll.

Josh Evans of Linn-Mar is ranked No. 2 among Class 4A boys. He trails Ben Anderson of West Des Moines Valley, who defeated Evans for the state cross country title last fall.

Etienne Nzoyisaba of Washington is ranked 10th in Class 4A. Mitch Pritts of Prairie is 12th, Tanner Rathje of Linn-Mar 13th, Chase Grabau of Linn-Mar 16th, Daniel Murphy of Linn-Mar 18th and Joe Berry of Washington 21st.

Alyssa Averhoff of Kennedy is ranked 16th among the girls in Class 4A. Maddie Saville of Linn-Mar is 17th, Allison Culver of Kennedy 18th, Lauren Meyer of Kennedy 23rd, Katie Wampole of Kennedy 24th and Rachel Perry of Linn-Mar 26th.

Ben Schueler of Xavier is ranked 29th among Class 3A boys.

The team rankings were not updated on the Iowa Track Coaches Association website as of 7 p.m. Wednesday. The latest team rankings are from Sept. 5, which saw the Linn-Mar boys and girls both ranked No. 2 in the state. Dowling is ranked No. 1 in both polls.

Washington is ranked 10th in Class 4A boys and Prairie is 11th.

Kennedy is ranked No. 4 among Class 4A girls.
