The Xavier Saints remained in the No. 3 spot Sunday in the final Class 4A football rankings by the Des Moines Register.

The Saints (9-0) will host Iowa City High (4-5) in the first round of the playoffs at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The top four teams in the Class 4A rankings have all enjoyed a perfect regular season with 9-0 marks. Ankeny is No. 1, followed by Iowa City West, Xavier and Pleasant Valley.

The Marion Indians dropped out of the Class 3A rankings following their 17-16 loss at DeWitt Central Friday night.
