Washington rally stuns Lions boys bowlers

Washington spotted Linn-Mar a 65-pin lead after the first round, rallied in the final two games of the Baker round, and eked out a 2878-2875 win over the Lions Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys bowling meet at Lancer Lanes.

Quincy Bruce led Washington (7-7, 4-5 MVC) with a high game of 267 and 437 series.

Tristan Stevens rolled a 245 high game and 447 series for Linn-Mar (7-5, 6-3). Corey Prokop also had the hot hand, rolling a 222 game and 432 series.

Linn-Mar held a 65-pin lead with two games remaining in the Baker round. Washington cut the margin to 44 heading into the final game. The Warriors won the final game 224-177 to pull out the win.

LINN-MAR (2875): Tristan Stevens 245-447, Dreyson Robe 180-352, Tyler Lemon 200-380, Matt Wheaton 181-350, Corey Prokop 222-432.

WASHINGTON (2878): Zach Christensen 198-377, Jay Niblick 187-354, Quincy Bruce 267-437, Nick Seng 204-353, Ryan Bundy 194-375.
