CEDAR FALLS - Kyle Briggs finished second at 106 pounds to lead Jefferson to an 11th place finish Saturday at the Keith Young Invitational wrestling meet.

The meet featured five of the top 10 teams in Class 3A. No. 8 North Scott won the meet with 191.5 points. No. 3 Bettendorf was second with 190.

Other ranked teams in the field were Waverly-Shell Rock, Pleasant Valley and West Des Moines Dowling in 3A, Denver-Tripoli and Charles City in 2A and Don Bosco in 1A.

Jefferson finished 11th with 79.5 points. Kennedy was 16th with 22.

Briggs recorded a pair of pins before getting stuck by Bettendorf's Jacob Schwarm in the final.

Kelly May (152) and Josh Allen (170) finished fourth for the J-Hawks.

James Ruzicka (132) was the only Kennedy werstler to place. He finished sixth.
