Xavier fell from fourth to fifth in Class 4A in the weekly girls basketball poll released Thursday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

Xavier dropped a spot after losing by 20 points to Iowa City High last Friday. The Little Hawks were No. 2 in the Class 5A poll at that time, but are No. 6 in this week's rankings.

Kennedy, meanwhile, held on to the No. 9 spot in Class 5A.

The No. 1 teams remained the same in all classes. They are Mason City (5A), Sioux City Heelan (4A, Davenport Assumption (3A), Western Christian (2A and Bedford (1A).
