Hembera nets double-double for Cedar Valley girls

JANESVILLE - Shelby Hembera had another big game for the Cedar Valley Christian girls basketball team Thursday night with 18 points and 12 rebounds, but she didn't get nearly enough help from her teammates.

The Huskies lost to Janesville, 55-28.

Cedar Valley Christian has only six girls on its roster this season and one of them, freshman Annie McElree, will be sidelined approximately six weeks with a hip injury. That left the Huskies (0-3) with only five players Thursday, and they played with only four girls on the court for a short spell when one of the girls suffered a leg cramp.

Anna Backstrom led Janesville (4-1) with 11 points.
