6 Metro teams ranked in boys soccer

Six boys soccer teams from the Metro area are ranked again this week by the IAHSSCA, but the exact spots have changed a little bit.

Four Metro teams are ranked in Class 3A with Linn-Mar No. 4, Washington No. 5, Kennedy No. 6 and Prairie No. 13.

Two Metro teams are ranked in Class 2A with Xavier No.4 and Marion No.13.

CLASS 3A

Duval helps Indians boot Benton

VAN HORNE - Enoch Duval scored both goals Tuesday as the Marion Indians trimmed Benton Community, 2-1, in a Wamac Conference boys soccer match in Van Horne.

Noah Smith collected an assist for the Indians.

Marion raised its record to 7-2.

No.12 Indians blank Pointers, 3-0

Enoch Duval scored two goals Friday as the 12th-ranked Marion Indians blanked Center Point-Urbana, 3-0, in a Wamac Conference soccer match at Marion.

Ryan Whalen also scored for the Indians. Carter Stigge and Justin Thompson collected assists.

Marion boys pop into soccer rankings

The Marion Indians jumped into the boys soccer rankings Wednesday as the No.12 team in Class 2A, according to the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association.

This is the first time Marion has been ranked all year.

The Metro area now has six teams in the rankings.

The Class 3A rankings show Kennedy at No. 4, Linn-Mar at No. 5, Washington at No.6 and Prairie at No. 11.

The Class 2A rankings have Xavier at No. 4 and Marion at No. 12.

TIFFIN - The Marion boys soccer team lost to Clear Creek-Amana, 2-1, in double overtime Tuesday in a Wamac Conference battle in Tiffin.

Ryan Whalen scored for Marion, with an assist by Carter Stigge.
