Marion - Boys Soccer

Late goal dooms Marion boys, 1-0

MOUNT VERNON - Marion keeper Will Byers held Mount Vernon scoreless for 77 minutes Thursday in a boys soccer game at Mount Vernon.

But with three minutes left in the game the Mustangs sneaked home a goal and beat the Indians, 1-0.

Byers had seven saves for Marion.

Marion boys blanked by CCA, 1-0

The Marion High School boys soccer team lost to Clear Creek Amana, 1-0, in a Wamac Conference game at Marion Tuesday.

Will Byers made four saves for the Indians. Noah Smith had three shots on goal.

Clear Creek Amana scored with five minutes left in the second half.

Marion boys boot Independence, 4-1

INDEPENDENCE - Dalton Ott scored a goal and had an assist to lead Marion past Independence, 4-1, Tuesday in boys soccer.

Enoch Duval, Noah Smith and Abe Flexing also had goals for Marion (2-1).

Matthew Minks had an assist for the Indians.

Marion led 2-0 at halftime.

Marion boys boot Williamsburg, 6-0

Enoch Duval and Daniel Tribble scored two goals Monday as the Marion boys soccer team blanked Williamsburg, 6-0, in a Wamac game in Marion.

Dalton Ott and Abe Flecksing also scored for the Indians. Duval, Tribble, Carter Stigge, Steve Hartzler and Ben Kroemer had assists.

Will Byers had to make only one save in goal for Marion.

The Indians led 1-0 at halftime, then poured in five goals in the second half.

Solon boys slip past Marion, 1-0

Solon scored a second-half goal and upended Marion, 1-0, Friday in a boys soccer game at Marion.

The game was the first of the season for the Indians.
