Indians stay unbeaten in boys soccer

Steen Irish had a goal and an assist to lead Class 2A No. 15 Marion past Williamsburg, 3-0, Tuesday in a Wamac Conference boys soccer game at Marion.

The win was the 18th in its last 19 games for the Indians (6-0, 5-0 Wamac) dating back to last season.

Williamsburg dropped to 2-4, 1-4.

Stratton West and Lukas Mees also scored goals for Marion.

Storla powers Marion boys past Mount Vernon

MOUNT VERNON -- Colton Storla scored two goals and added an assist to lead Marion past Mount Vernon, 4-3, in a boys soccer game Thursday.

Although both teams compete in the Wamac Conference, the game was designated as a nonconference tilt.

Class 2A No. 15 Marion (5-0) also got goals from Stratton West and Curran Lipsett.

The win was Marion's 17th in its last 18 games.

Mount Vernon is 2-3.

Marion boys clip CPU, 1-0

CENTER POINT - Nick Rael scored the only goal and Zach Nielsen made six saves Thursday as Marion trimmed Center Point-Urbana, 1-0, in a boys soccer match.

Colton Storla got the assist on Rael's tally. The Indians outshot Center Point-Urbana, 19-8.

The win was Marion's 16th in its last 17 games and fourth to start the season.

Indians down DeWitt in boys soccer

Marion notched its 15th win in its last 16 games, downing DeWitt Central, 3-1, on Tuesday night in a Wamac Conference boys soccer game at Marion.

The Indians improved 3-0 overall and in the Wamac. Their streak reaches back to last season.

Stratton West, Curran Lipsett and Colton Sorla scored goals for Marion. The Indians outshot DeWitt, 23-11.

Marion's next game is Thursday at home against Center Point-Urbana. Kickoff is 4:15 p.m.

Indians rout Maquoketa in boys soccer

MAQUOKETA -- Steen Irish scored three goals to lead Marion to a 7-2 win over Maquoketa on Friday night in a Wamac Conference boys soccer game.

Markus Newton added a pair of goals for the Indians (2-0, 2-0 Wamac). Colton Storla and Mitch Vargason also scored. Stratton West had three assists.

Marion outshot Maquoketa, 33-6.

Marion's next game is Tuesday (April 12) at home against DeWitt Central. Kickoff is 6 p.m.
