Madison Bach wins Metro Spotlight Award

Marion junior Madison Bach is the winner of the Metro Spotlight Award for high school girls this week, the Metro Sports Report announced Sunday.

Bach, who is competing in two sports this spring, had a big week for the Indians past week as she switched from one sport to another on consecutive days.

On Thursday, Bach won the 1,500-meter run and the 3,000 meter run at the Marion Invitational at Thomas Park. And on Friday, she scored three goals for the Marion soccer team in a 5-2 victory at Williamsburg in a Wamac Conference match.

Bach's hat trick powers Indians

WILLIAMSBURG - Maddie Bach scored three goals to lead the way as Marion blanked Williamsburg, 5-0, in a Wamac girls soccer match on Friday.

Hollie Jones and Saige Trca also scored for the Indians. Jones had two assists. Bach, Liz Banning and Sheala Rael also had assists.

Goaltender Tessa Jordan had two saves to earn the shutout.

Trca, Jones pace Marion girls soccer

VAN HORNE - Saige Trca and Holli Jones scored two goals apiece Tuesday as the Marion Indians blanked Benton Community, 6-0, in a Wamac Conference soccer match in Van Horne.

Mia Laube and Maddie Chambers also scored for the Indians.

Chambers collected two assists. Trca, Jones, Sheala Rael and Liz Banning also had assists.

Tessa Jordan got the shutout in goal.

Trca's hast trick lifts Marion

Saige Trca had three goals and an assist, leading Marion to a 6-0 Wamac Conference girls soccer win Friday night over South Tama.

Sheala Rael, Holli Jones and Peyton Morahan also scored for the Indians.  Tanea Westhoff had 2 assists while Maddie Chambers and Jones had one each.
