Marion - Wrestling
Trevon Hernandez, Brady Bartz, Caleb Conway and Colin Conway collected pins for the Marion Indians Thursday night in a Wamac Conference wrestling meet against DeWitt Central at home.
DeWitt Central won the meet, 49-30.
Colin Conway had the fastest pin for the Indians in 2:12.

BLUE VALLEY, Kan. – Caleb Conway won the 145-pound title to lead the Marion wrestling team to a ninth-place finish with 104 points at the Blue Valley Invitational Saturday in Kansas.
Blue Valley Northwest won with 228 points.
Conway (29-5) won a 6-1 decision over Evan Pardue of Olathe Northwest for the title at 145.
Kyle Van Meter took third place at 285 for the Indians, Colin Conway was fourth at 152, Dalton Gardner was fifth at 182 and Zach Cochran was ninth at 106.

VINTON - The Marion High School wrestling team split a pair of Wamac Conference meets in Vinton Thursday night.
The Indians defeated Maquoketa (43-31) and lost to Solon (68-12).
Ian Kelly pinned Jaden Owen of Solon in their 113-pound match. Dalton Gardner (195), Kyle Van Meter (285), Zach Cochran (106), Trevon Hernandez (126) and Alex Gillaspie (138) had pins against Maquoketa.

DEWITT - Caleb Conway and Colin Conway had two pins Thursday night as the Marion Indians split their Wamac Conference wrestling meets in DeWitt.
The Indians nipped Anamosa, 39-37, and lost to Vinton-Shellsburg, 51-15.
Caleb Conway got his two pins in 3:33 and 3:03 at 145 pounds. Colin Conway got his two pins in 43 seconds and 1:36 at 152.

VAN HORNE - Six Marion High School wrestlers won both of their matches Thursday night, but it wasn't quite enough as the Indians lost a pair of Wamac Conference meets in Van Horne.
Center Point-Urbana trimmed Marion, 42-39, and Benton Community defeated the Indians, 42-30.
Zach Cochran (106), Caleb Conway (145), Colin Conway (152), Jack Serbousek (160), Dalton Gardner (182/195) and Kyle Van Meter (285) won both of their matches for Marion. Cochran, Caleb Conway, Colin Conway and Van Meter had two pins.
