Waterloo West bowlers sink Prairie boys

WATERLOO – Walker Hunt rolled a 231 game and a 446 series to lead the Prairie boys bowling team in a 3,033 to 2,968 loss to Waterloo West on Friday at Maple Lanes.

Andrew Gerst had a 464 series to lead the Wahawks (8-4). Prairie finished the regular season 4-7.

Prairie (2,968): Walker Hunt 215-231=446, Zach Zimmerman 212-169=381, Lucas Galloro 182-179=361, Matt Galloro 207-136=343, Sawyer Hansen 164-179=343, Nick Moffitt 117-212=329.

Waterloo West (3,033): Andrew Gerst 227-237=464, Jordan Mattix 192-236=428, Dalton Draeger 222-180=402, Marcus Holmes 180-202=382, Tanner Sampson 170-177=347, Branden Frederick 151-141=292.

Hansen bowls Prairie boys to win

Sawyer Hansen had games of 213 and 214 for a 427 series to lead the Prairie boys bowling team in a 2,838 to 2,663 win over Waterloo East on Friday at Lancer Lanes.

Chris Smith rolled a 437 series for the Trojans (3-7).

The Prairie Hawks improved to 4-6.

Prairie boys edge Washington by 44 pins

Matthew Gallaro posted a 245 game and a 449 series to lead the Prairie boys bowling team in a tight 2,946 to 2,902 win over Washington on Friday at Lancer Lanes.

Bryan Cline had a 249 game and a 431 series for the Warriors, who won the Baker round 990 to 976, but couldn’t catch the Prairie Hawks.

Hansen sparks Prairie by City High

Sawyer Hansen rolled a 223 game and 404 series Friday to help Prairie top Iowa City High, 2903-2573, in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at Lancer Lanes.

Matt Galloro had a 200 game for Prairie (2-6).

Kolby Melsha of Iowa City High (0-8) matched Hansen with a 404 series to share top honors.

Svoboda leads Kennedy boys bowlers

Doug Svoboda had a two 244 games for a 488 series and led the Kennedy boys bowling team to a 3,079 to 2,697 win over Prairie on Friday at Lancer Lanes.

Matt Golloro had a 203 game and 388 series to lead the Prairie Hawks.
