Cline and Kacena fire Hawks past Lions

Jeremy Cline rolled a 468 series and Josh Kacena a 465 to lead Prairie past Linn-Mar, 3137-3081, Tuesday in boys bowling at Lancer Lanes.

Cline, who rolled a 300 game last Friday, fired games of 256 and 212. Kacena had games of 254 and 211.

Zach Bolton had a 430 series and Brogan Fiala a 405 for Prairie.

Linn-Mar's Justin Wyant shot high game (257) and series (479). Seth Tegtmeier also had a hot hand and fired a 437 series for the Lions.

Prairie built 75-pin lead in the first round. Linn-Mar won the Baker round, but could only make up 19 pins on the Hawks.

Both teams play in the Class 2A qualifying tournament Thursday at Lancer Lanes.

Fiala, Cline will bowl at Mount Mercy

Cedar Rapids Prairie seniors Brogan Fiala and Jeremy Cline will continue their bowling careers at Mount Mercy University next year.

Fiala ranks 10th in Class 2A with an average of 218.9 pins per game and 437.9 for a two-game series. He's rolled a 265 game and a 509 series this season.

Cline bowled a perfect game of 300 last Friday at Colonial Lanes in Iowa City and carries averages of 208.1 per game and 416.2 per series.

Fiala and Cline have helped Prairie compile a 9-1 record and No. 7 ranking in the state. The Hawks will compete in the state qualifier at Lancer Lanes on Thursday.

Jeremy Cline fires perfect 300 for Prairie Hawks

IOWA CITY -- Jeremy Cline fired a perfect game of 300 and a 517 series to lead Prairie past Iowa City High, 3119-2811, Friday in boys bowling at Colonial Lanes.

Cline shot a 217 in his first game. He ripped off 12 straight strikes in his second game for a 300.

Cline's 300 is the third for a Prairie boys bowler. Eric Bolton shot one in 2007. Drew Balta had a 300 and 288 for a 588 series in the 2010 season.

Josh Wilcox had a 241 high game and 430 series also for Prairie (9-1). Brandon Wagner shot a 236 and 409 for the Hawks.

Austin Kibler shot a high game of 258 and 486 series for City High (3-7).

Prairie boys roll past J-Hawks

Chase Bicket had the hot hand, rolling games of 212 and 278 for a 490 series that led Prairie past Jefferson, 3164-2945, Friday in boys bowling at Lancer Lanes.

Three bowlers cracked the 400 barrier for Prairie. Brandon Wagner had a 475 and Zach Bolton a 442. Wagner also rolled a 259 high game and Bolton a 258.

Jefferson's top shooter was Christian Hindt with a 257 high game and 426 series. Zach Trcka rolled a 425 series.

Wagner fires Prairie past East bowlers

Brandon Wagner had the hot hand for Prairie on Friday, rolling games of 258 and 233 for a 491 series that led the Hawks past Waterloo East, 3152-3024, in boys bowling at Lancer Lanes.

Prairie's Josh Kacena rolled a 244 high game and 436 series, and Chase Bicket had games of 207 and 203 for a 410 series for the Hawks.
