Kamin, Utter, Lindo qualify for state golf

MJ Kamin fired an 83 to finish as runnerup medalist Monday in the Class 5A Region 3 girls golf tournament at Gardner Golf Course.

Prairie's Taylor Utter was third with an 86 and Ali Lindo of Kennedy tied for fifth with an 87.

All three qualify for the Class 5A state tournament May 28-29 at Lake Panorama National at Panora.

West Des Moines Dowling Catholic won the meet by three strokes over Ottumwa. Both teams qualified for the state meet.

Prairie had the top finish among Metro schools in sixth place. Washington was eighth, Kennedy ninth and Jefferson 10th.

Ottumwa's Whitney Dostal was medalist with an 82.

Prairie - Girls Golf

Utter leads Prairie to triangular win

Taylor Utter shot a 45 to claim medalist honors and lead Prairie to a win Tuesday at the Washington triangular girls golf meet at Gardner Golf Course.

Prairie beat Washington by 25 strokes. Jefferson was 16 strokes behind the Warriors.

Emily Perrin from Prairie and Jefferson's Emily Aukes were runnersup with 49s.

Prairie - Girls Golf

Utter paces Hawks to 5th at Prairie Invy

Emma Lorenz shot a 76 to lead Linn-Mar to a third-place tie Thursday in the Prairie Invitational girls golf tournament at Airport National.

Amanda Shannon shot an 82 for the Lions, who tied with Cascade.

Taylor Utter's 77 led Prairie to a fifth-place finish. Marion was ninth.

Kamin 2nd at Prairie golf quad

Washington's MJ Kamin shot a 40 and was runnerup medalist Thursday in the Prairie girls golf quadrangular meet at Airport National.

Sarah Overton of Iowa City High was medalist with a 38. The Little Hawks also won the meet with a 168.

Host Pririe was second, seven shots back. The Hawks were led by Emily Perrin, who shot a 42.

Dubuque Wahlert was third and Washington fourth.

Prairie - Girls Golf

Prairie girls 4th at Benton golf meet

VAN HORNE - Taylor Utter shot an 86 to lead Prairie to a fourth-place finish Saturday at the Benton Invitational girls golf meet at Tara Hills.

The Hawks finished one stroke behind Vinton-Shellsburg.

Independence won the meet with a 383 that was 21 strokes better than runnerup Waterloo Columbus.

South Tama's Paige Van Dyke was medalist with a 3-over-par 75.
