Warriors struggle at City High tri

IOWA CITY - Washington struggled at Pleasant Valley golf course Monday and finished third in a triangular golf meet hosted by Iowa City High.

City High finished first with a 159. Dubuque Hempstead was second at 168 and Washington shot a 170.

Nate Goddard of Iowa City High was medalist with a 37.

Washington's Matt Strand tied for third with a 41.

Warriors post 2-stroke win at The Meadows

DUBUQUE -- Washington's Dominic Roodriguez and Evan Jankwietz each carded 40s to lead the Warriors to a two-stroke win at a triangular boys golf meet at The Meadows.

Linn-Mar was second and host Dubuque Senior was third.

Linn-Mar's Jason Gingrich and Senior's Quinn Dawson tied for medalist honors at 39.

Rodriguez leads Wash golfers

CEDAR FALLS - Dominic Rodriguez shared medalist honors with a 37 Thursday to help the Washington Warriors finish a tight second in a Mississippi Valley Conference quadrangular meet at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls.

Cedar Falls nipped Washington for the title, 156-157. Jefferson placed third (170) and Prairie was fourth (173).

Rodriguez tied for first place with Alec Brown of Cedar Falls.

Zach Denny fired a 38 for Jefferson and Matt Edl had a 40 for Prairie.

Moore leads Cougars to quad win

Harrison Moore fired a 1-under-par 35 Thursday to help Kennedy win a Mississippi Valley Conference quadrangular boys golf meet at Gardner Golf Course.

Conner Koberg shot an even-par 36 for the Cougars. Davis Sutton of Kennedy, Austin Bergstrom of Washington, Noah Federici of Iowa City West and Christian Rapp of Wahlert all shot 37.
