No.5 Warriors blank Waterloo West

CEDAR FALLS - Alex Kennedy and John Henry Green scored goals Tuesday as fifth-ranked Washington shut out Waterloo West, 2-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference soccer match at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex.

Evan Fisher and Nathan Metzger collected assists for the Warriors.

Gunnar Lenzen posted the shutout in goal.

Washington - Boys Soccer

No.5 Warriors roll by Wahlert

Jacob Bjornsen and Antonio Patterson scored two goals Saturday as No.5 Washington sailed by Dubuque Wahlert, 6-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference soccer match at Kingston Stadium.

Emmanuel Hidalgo-Wohlleban and Austin Cook also scored for the Warriors.

Evan Fisher, Aroni Niyikiza and Bjornsen collected assists.

CEDAR FALLS - Jacob Bjornsen and AJ Patterson scored goals Friday night as No.5 Cedar Rapids Washington defeated Cedar Falls, 2-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference soccer match at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex.

Connor Geuder and Nathan Metzger collected assists for the Warriors.

Wash boys boot Waterloo East

Alex Kennedy scored two goals Thursday night as the sixth-ranked Washington boys soccer team rolled by Waterloo East, 9-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at Kingston Stadium.

Antonio Patterson, Mike Eken, Nathan Metzger, John Henry, Emmanuel Hidalgo-Wohlleben, Connor Geuder and Aroni Niyikiza also scored for the Warriors.

Jacob Bjornsen collected two assists. Metzger, Niyikiza and Kennedy also had assists.

Lions now 3rd in boys soccer poll

The Linn-Mar Lions have climbed one spot to No. 3 in the Class 3A boys soccer rankings, the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association announced Tuesday.

Six Metro teams are ranked again this week.

Washington is ranked No. 5, Kennedy is No.6 and Prairie is No. 14 in the Class 3A poll. Xavier is ranked No.4 and Marion is ranked No. 13 in Class 2A.

Iowa City West is ranked No .1 in Class 3A and Norwalk is No. 1 in Class 2A.
