Warriors vault to 4th in final boys soccer poll

Cedar Rapids Washington jumped three spots to No.4 in the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association Class 3A poll released Wednesday.

The Warriors were seventh in last week's rankings. They jumped past Metro foes Kennedy and Prairie. The Cougars are ranked fifth, the Hawks sixth.

Linn-Mar is ranked 10th in Class 3A.

Xavier again is ranked No.2 in Class 2A. The Saints fell out of the top spot last week and continue to trail undefeated Spencer.

Washington - Boys Soccer

Warriors escape J-Hawks, 1-0

Kimu Kasha's unassited goal was the only score of the game and No.7 Washington escaped Jefferson, 1-0, Thursday night in boys soccer at Kingston Stadium.

Washington closed out the regular season with a 12-4 record.

Jefferson is 2-14.

The Washington boys shutout Waterloo West, 3-0, Tuesday in boys soccer at Kingston Stadium.

Evan Fisher, Austin Bergstrom and Jack Sundermann all scored goals for the Warriors.

Goal in OT upends No.5 Warriors

A Cedar Falls goal in overtime beat No.5 Washington, 3-2, Friday night in a boys soccer game at Kingston Stadium.

Austin Bergstrom and Kimu Kasha scored goals for Washinton.

Austin Cook had an assist.

No.5 Warriors blank Waterloo East, 6-0

WATERLOO - Etienne Nzoyisaba scored a pair of goals and No.5 Washington blanked Waterloo East, 6-0, Tuesday in boys soccer.

Austin Bergstrom, Max Newcamp, Kimu Kasha and Boris Licona-Moreno also scored goals for the Warriors.

Kasha, Licona-Moreno, Newcamp, Jacob Bjornsen, Jack Sundermann and Cole Malcolm had assists.

Keeper Gunnar Lenzen recorded the shutout.
