Cedar Valley boys trim Wapsie Valley

FAIRBANK - Will Muhlbach poured in 22 points Tuesday night as Cedar Valley Christian nudged Wapsie Valley, 60-56, in a non-conference basketball game in Fairbank.

The victory lifted the Huskies to 5-4 for the season, with all nine games on the road.

"A hard-fought win tonight," Cedar Valley Coach Jeff Pospisil reported. "It is tough to play on the road."

Jeremy Strutz tossed in 14 points for the Huskies and Jon Landis scored 11. Steven Stoner made five 3-pointers and led winless Wapsie Valley (0-6) with 28 markers.

Cedar Valley boys dunk Dunkerton, 46-35

DUNKERTON - David Sperling tossed in 13 points Saturday night as Cedar Valley Christian squared its record at 4-4 with a 46-35 victory over Dunkerton.

Will Muhlbach and Jeremy Strutz scored 11 points apiece for the Huskies.

"Big win tonight," Cedar Valley Coach Jeff Pospisil reported. "We came from behind and played great defense in the third quarter."

Kory Kuenstler led Dunkerton (4-4) with eight points.

North Linn goes long to beat CVC boys

TROY MILLS -- Will Muhlbach scored 17 points to lead a trio of Cedar Valley Christian scorers in double figures, but the Huskies were beat by North Linn, 77-60, Thursday night in boys basketball.

David Sperling added 13 points and Jeremy Strutz 11 for Cedar Valley (3-4).

North Linn (7-0) drained 10 3-pointers. Hunter Pfluhaupt had five 3-pointers and finished with 17 points. Jake Oswold had three 3-pointers and 23 points.

North Linn led 42-20 at halftime.

Huskies boys fall to Clayton Ridge

GUTTENBERG - Jeremy Strutz scored 18 points for Cedar Valley Christian, but the Huskies were humbled by Clayton Ridge, 53-49, Saturday night in a boys basketball game.

Cedar Valley (3-3) had three more field goals than Clayton Ridge, but was outscored 14-7 at the free-throw line.

Nick Henderson added nine points for the Huskies.
