Cedar Valley boys snap 33-game slide

SPRINGVILLE - Travis Geels poured in 18 points Thursday night as Cedar Valley Christian drubbed HLV, 35-14, for its first victory of the season.

The Huskies had lost 33 straight games dating back to the last game of the 2012-13 campaign. They finished 0-21 last season and were 0-11 this season before ending the victory drought.

Michael Johnson contributed eight points for the Huskies.

HLV fell to 1-11 for the campaign.

HLV (14): Coats 1 0-0 3, Strudthoff 3 1-5 7, Doran 0 0-0 0, Lahndorf 2 0-2 4, Thys 0 0-1 0, Jones 0 0-0 0. Totals 6 1-8 14.

Geels scores 15 in Cedar Valley setback

SPRINGVILLE - Travis Geels led all scorers with 15 points as the Cedar Valley Christian boys basketball team lost to Bellevue Marquette, 49-35, Tuesday in Springville.

The Huskies fell to 0-11 with the loss.

Logan Schroeder had 14 points for Bellevue Marquette (10-2).

Geels scores 16 in C.V. Christian boys’ loss

Travis Geels scored 16 points to lead the Cedar Valley Christian boys basketball team in a 52-41 loss to Prince of Peace on Tuesday at Cedar Valley Christian.

Tom Scroggs added 10 points for the Huskies (0-9).

Stevon Morgan had 11 points for Prince of Peace (2-9), and Quinn Schnier had 10 points.

Alex Martins had 17 points for the Eagles (2-6).

Cedar Valley Christian fell to 0-8.

SPRINGVILLE – Mike Scroggs had 20 points to lead the Cedar Valley Christian boys basketball team in a 75-47 loss to Calamus-Wheatland on Friday.

Cole Moeller had 28 points for Calamus-Wheatland (3-5).

Cedar Valley Christian fell to 0-6.
