Cedar Valley girls fall at Dunkerton, 43-26

DUNKERTON - The Cedar Valley Christian girls basketball team scored only seven points in the second half Saturday and lost to Dunkerton, 43-26.

Dunkerton (1-8) collected its first victory of the season by playing a box-and-one against CVC star Shelby Hembera. Hembera scored 13 points, but made only two field goals and was 9 for 21 at the foul line.

Lindsey Cach scored 10 points for the Huskies (0-5).

Jesse Rottinghaus led Dunkerton with 13 points and Hayley Dodge scored 12.

Huskies humbled by North Linn

TROY MILLS -- Nicole Miller scored 16 points and North Linn overpowered Cedar Valley Christian, 76-18, Thursday at North Linn.

Shelby Hembera had eight points to lead Cedar Valley (0-4). Izzy Hoffman had six and Lindsey Cach four.

North Linn (9-0) led 41-9 at halftime.

Hembera nets 16 as CVC girls tumble

MONTEZUMA - Shelby Hembera scored 16 points Friday night for Cedar Valley Christian in a 37-22 loss at Montezuma.

Emily Long led Montezuma (5-1) with 13 points and Brynna Steele scored 10. Montezuma led 18-17 at halftime, then held Cedar Valley to five points in the second half.

Cedar Valley Christian (0-3) has only five girls on its active roster, but manager Taylor Fields made her first appearance of the season after Lindsey Cach fouled out. Fields wears a uniform and is available for emergencies.

Hembera nets 16 in CVC's loss at Meskwaki

TAMA - Freshmen Shelby Hembera scored 16 points Monday night as the Cedar Valley Christian girls basketball team lost to the Meskwaki Settlement School, 51-32, in Tama.

Juniors Lindsey Cach and Izzy Hoffman scored eight points apiece. The Huskies (0-2) played the entire game with five players for the second time this season.

Tiana Thompson led Meskwaki (3-0) with 15 points.
