Cedar Valley Christian - Volleyball

Walsh leads CVC at Prince of Peace tournament

CLINTON - Jessie Walsh of Cedar Valley Christian was named to the all-tournament team at the Prince of Peace volleyball meet in Clinton Saturday.

The Huskies finished with a 1-4 record in the tournament with the highlight a 15-21, 21-15, 15-12 victory over Unity Christian. Lindsey Cach had seven kills and Walsh collected six assists in the win.

Cedar Valley lost to Prince of Peace, 21-17, 21-11. Cach had four kills in that match. Taylor McElree and Elena Betsworth had four digs.

The Huskies also lost to Preston (21-6, 21-8), Wilton (21-17, 21-16) and Anamosa (21-8, 21-5).

Cedar Valley sweeps volleyball matches

GARWIN - The Cedar Valley Christian volleyball team doubled its victory total from last season by sweeping two matches in Garwin Thursday night.

The Huskies defeated Valley Lutheran, 25-17, 26-24, and knocked off GMG, 25-16, 25-18.

Cedar Valley Christian raised its record to 2-4 after compiling a 1-28 mark last season, which was its first as a member of the IGHSAU.

Lindsey Cach had eight kills for the Huskies against Valley Lutheran. Izzy Hoffman had four kills and Annie McElree collected seven assists.

Cach notched five more kills against GMG and Jessie Walsh had four aces.

Huskies fall to East Buchanan

Cedar Valley won the first game, but East Buchanan took the next three and knocked off the Huskies Tuesday night in prep volleyball.

The Huskies (1-3) won the first game, 25-22. East Buchanan won the next three, 25-17, 25-18, 25-18.

Lindsey Cach had nine kills, Taylor Fields 14 digs, and Annie McElree and Jessie Walsh five assists each.

Cedar Valley trimmed in volleyball

WATERLOO - Cedar Valley Christian gave Waterloo Christian a good battle in girls volleyball Monday night before falling 26-24, 25-18, 22-25, 25-21.

Lindsey Cach had eight kills for the Huskies. Jessie Walsh collected eight assists and three aces. Annie McElree had seven digs and Hannah Reinhart had six digs.

Cedar Valley Christian fell to 0-3 for the season. The Huskies lost two matches at the Meskwaki tournament on Saturday, falling 21-9, 21-11 to Denver and losing 21-13, 21-18 to Vinton-Shellsburg.

Huskies bow out of volleyball tournament

LISBON - Cedar Valley Christian had its volleyball season come to an end Wednesday night with a three-set loss to Lisbon in the first round the Class 1A regional tournament.

Lisbon, ranked No. 11, won by scores of 25-9, 25-7, 25-12.

Cedar Valley Christian completed its first season as a member of the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union with a 1-27 record.
