Chilcott jumps to 5th at JUCO golf

PLYMOUTH, Ind. - Nathan Chilcott of Kirkwood Community College shot an even-par 72 Thursday and climbed into a tie for fifth place at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament after 54 holes at the Swan Lake Resort Black Course in Plymouth, Ind.

The final round is scheduled for Friday.

Chilcott jumped five spots in the standings Thursday, moving from 10th place to fifth on the leaderboard. He has fired rounds of 76, 71 and 72 for a three-day total of 3-over 219.

Chilcott trails Tanner McKinney of Mineral (Mo.) Area College by five shots heading into the final round. McKinney is sitting at 2-under 214.

Chilcott climbs at JUCO golf tourney

PLYMOUTH, Ind. - Nathan Chilcott of Kirkwood fired a 1-under-par 71 at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament Wednesday and jumped from 27th place into a tie for 10th after 36 holes at the Swan Lake Resort Black Course.

Chilcott stands at 76-71=147 at the halfway point of the 72-hole tournament.

Tanner McKinney of Mineral (Mo.) Area College leads the tournament at 70-71=141. There are 128 players in the event.

Chilcott tied for 27th at JUCO golf

PLAYMOUTH, Ind. - Nathan Chilcott of Kirkwood shot a 4-over-par 76 Tuesday and is tied for 27th after the first round of the NJCAA Division II National Tournament at the Swan Lake Resort Black Course in Plymouth, Ind.

Sebastian Otoya of Seminole State (Okla.) fired a 5-under 67 to take the early lead in the 72-hole tournament.

Chilcott, who is from Wales, was a freshman at Kirkwood this year. There are 128 players in the tournament.

KCC's Chilcott wins regional golf

PANORAMA - Nathan Chilcott of Kirkwood posted a three-shot victory at the NJCAA Region XI golf tournament at Lake Panorama Sunday.

Chilcott fired rounds of 76 and 73 for a 36-hole score of 149. He qualifies for the national tournament May 20-23 in Plymouth, Ind.

Ben Hogan of Kirkwood tied for second place at 152.

Kirkwood finished third in the team standings at 643, trailing Iowa Central (634) and Iowa Lakes (643). It was only the second time in the last 11 years that Kirkwood did not win the regional title.

The Eagles finished the season with a 49-15 record.
