Coe's Gunderson tied for 2nd at IIAC golf

DUBUQUE - Tyler Gunderson of Coe is tied for second place after three rounds of the Iowa Conference men's golf tournament.

Gunderson shot a 5-over-par 75 Friday at the Dubuque Golf & Country Club for a 54-hole score of 222. He is tied with Desmond Stoll of Central in second place.

Eric Wolfe of Dubuque has a seven-shot lead at 215 heading into the final round Saturday.

940, 6. Coe 958, 7. Loras 1000, 8. Buena Vista 1010.

Coe's Gunderson 3rd at IIAC golf

IOWA CITY - Tyler Gunderson of Coe sits in third place after two rounds of the Iowa Conference golf tournament.

Gunderson shot rounds of 74 and 73 at Finkbine Golf Course this weekend for a 36-hole total of 147. Eric Wolfe of Dubuque holds the lead at 140.

Dubuque leads Central College, 601-608, after two rounds. The tournament shifts to the Dubuque Golf & Country Club next week.

Coe is in sixth place at 640.

1. Dubuque 601, 2. Central 608, 3. Luther 612, 4. Simpson 617, 5. Wartburg 620, 6. Coe 640, 7. Loras 668, 8. Buena Vista 680.

Gunderson leads Coe at IIAC golf

IOWA CITY - Tyler Gunderson shot a 2-over-par 74 to pace the Coe Kohawks at the Iowa Conference meet at Finkbine Golf Course Friday.

Dubuque leads the tournament after 18 holes at 295. The Kohawks are in sixth place at 315.

Eric Wolfe of Dubuque fired a 2-under 70 to set the pace.

Team Standings

1. Dubuque 295, 2. Simpson 304, 3. Luther 305, 4. Wartburg 308, 5. Central 313, 6. Coe 315, 7. Loras 331, 8. Buena Vista 341.

Coe's Gunderson 2nd at Hunters Ridge

Tyler Gunderson of Coe shot a 2-over-par 74 Tuesday to tie for second place at the Mount Mercy Spring Invitational at Hunters Ridge.

Josh Udelhofen of Clark won the meet with a 1-under 71. Ryan Scrimper of Mount Mercy also shot a 74.

Mount Mercy won the tournament at 303. Kirkwood finished second at 305. Sheldon Gryp led Kirkwood with a 75.

1. Mount Mercy 303, 2. Kirkwood 305, 3. Mount Mercy Gold 309, 4. Kirkwood White 318, 5. Coe 320, 6. Clarke 322, 7. Coe 371.

 

Coe - Men's Golf

Coe golfers place 11th at Spring Invy

WAVERLY — Mount Mercy University fired a 286 team total Saturday at Centennial Oaks Golf Course to win the Wartburg Spring Invitational by 18 strokes over Simpson College and Central College.

Coe College finished 11th out of 16 teams. Mitch Moon led the Kohawks with a 36-hole score of 11-over-par 155.

The Mount Mercy Mustangs were led by medalist Ryan Schrimper, who fired a 5-under 67 Saturday en route to a 1-under 143 total. Mount Mercy's Jamie Booth and Simpson's Trent Lindenman finished two shots back at 145. Luther's Tobi Kohl and Central's Adam Squires (both 146) rounded out the top five.

Coe: Mitch Moon 75-80=155, Tyler Gunderson 78-79=157, Derek Nicholson 80-87=167, Kyle Boardman 84-87=171, Seth Inman 83-92=175, Zach Stafford 89-87=176, Anthony Worden 92-94=186.
