CEDAR FALLS - Jessica Franson and Jade Hess of Coe College shot 16-over-par 88's Friday on the first day of the Iowa Conference women's golf tournament at Pheasant Ridge in Cedar Falls.

Franson and Hess are tied for 18th in the individual standings. The Kohawks are in fifth place in the team race.

Rochelle Beardsley of Wartburg took the 18-hole lead with a 2-over 74.

1. Wartburg 309, 2. Central 329, 3. (tie) Loras 343, Luther 343, 5. Coe 363, 6. Simpson 364, 7. Dubuque 374, 8. Buena Vista 412.

Coe's Lang is 13th at Luther golf

DECORAH - Erin Lang of Coe College tied for 13th out of 45 players at the Luther Invitational golf tournament Saturday with a two-round total of 28-over-par 172 at the Oneota Golf and Country Club.

Lang had rounds of 89 and 83. The Kohawks placed sixth out of eight teams.

Rochelle Beardsley of Wartburg took medalist honors with a 12-over 156 and led the Knights to the team championship.

1. Wartburg 646, 2. Luther 675, 3. AIB 690, 4. Loras, 5. Luther White 735, 6. Coe 736, 7. Waldorf 757, 8. Buena Vista 843.

INDIANOLA - The Coe College women's golf team placed third at the Simpson Invitational at the Indianola Country Club Monday.

Molly Geick led DMACC to the title as medalist.

Erin Lang led Coe with a 92.
