Coe women 10th at Wartburg golf

WAVERLY - The Coe women's golf team sits in 10th place after the first round of the Wartburg College Fall Invitational at Prairie Links Golf Club in Waverly Saturday.

The University of St. Thomas leads the 16-team field at 301. Coe is 54 shots behind at 355.

Erin Lang of Coe is tied for 20th with a 9-over-par 81. Vrishali Sinha of Grinnell and Emily Thul of St. Thomas have the first-day lead at 1-under 71.

Coe women place 8th at Sail golf

CEDAR FALLS - The Coe women's golf team finished eighth out of 12 teams at the Luther Sail Classic at the Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls Saturday.

Wartburg won the championship. Vrishali of Grinnell took medalist honors with a 36-hole score of 3-over-par 147.

Erin Lang placed 23rd for Coe at 28-over-par 172 with rounds of 87 and 85.

Lang leads Kohawks at Sail Classic

CEDAR FALLS - Erin Lang shot a 15-over-par 87 Friday to lead the Coe women's golf team at the Luther Sail Classic at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course.

Lang is tied for 21st place after the first round of the 36-hole tournament.

Brooke Klostermann of Wartburg fired an even-par 72 as the Knights took a 23-shot lead in the team standings. Coe stands in eighth place out of 12 schools.

Mount Mercy women win golf title

PEOSTA - Madison Goodfellow and Meg Monson both shot 6-over-par 77's Sunday to help Mount Mercy take top honors at the Loras Spring Invitational at Thunder Hills Country Club in Peosta.

Goodfellow was declared the winner on the score sheet and Monson was listed in second place. Kelsey Dircks shot an 81 for the Mustangs.

Mount Mercy beat Clarke by five shots, 333 to 338, in the seven-team field.
