Babcock earns top spot at Eagle Spring Classic

Will Babcock of Kirkwood fired a 4-under-par 68 Monday to capture the  top prize at the Eagle Spring Classic at Hunters Ridge.

Babcock finished at 6-under 138 for the 36-hole event and topped  Philip Nelson of Mount Mercy by three shots. William Bruyeres of Mount  Mercy and Dawson Peters of Kirkwood tied for third at 1-under 143.

Mount Mercy trimmed Kirkwood by four strokes, 582 to 586, for the team  championship in the six-team field.

Mustang, KCC golfers vie for title

The Mount Mercy and Kirkwood men's golf teams are locked in a tight  battle for top honors at the Eagle Spring Classic at Hunters Ridge.

The Mustangs finished Day 1 of the 36-hole tournament Sunday with a  two-shot lead over Kirkwood heading into the final round Monday.

Mount Mercy posted a four-man score of 1-over-par 289 Sunday, with  Kirkwood two shots back at 3-over 291.

Will Babcock of Kirkwood and Kaleb Hagge of Mount Mercy are tied for  first place at 2-under-par 70. William Bruyeres and Philip Nelson of  Mount Mercy are tied for third at 1-under 71.

Bruyeres, Noble pace Mustang golfers

PRIMM, Nev. - William Bruyeres and Casey Noble led the Mount Mercy  golf teams in the Battle at Primm Tuesday in November.

Bruyeres shot rounds of 72, 73 and 70 for a 54-hole score of  5-over-par 215 and a tie for 30th place.

Noble shot rounds of 83 and 80 for a 36-hole tally of 19-over-par 163  for a tie for 33rd in the women's results.

The Mount Mercy men tied for 13th out of 20 teams. The Mount Mercy  women finished 12th out of 14 teams.

Mount Mercy - Men's Golf

Schuhkraft fires 70 for Mustangs

PRIMM, Nev. - Thomas Schuhkraft of Mount Mercy fired an even-par 70  Monday to lead the Mustangs at the Battle of Primm golf tournament in  Nevada.

Schuhkraft is tied for 16th place heading into the final round  Tuesday, four shots behind the co-leaders at 66.

The Mount Mercy men's golf team is tied for 10th place in the 20-team  tournament at 10-over 290. Oklahoma City scorched the links Monday and  is sitting at 8-under par after 18 holes.

The Mount Mercy women's golf team is in 11th place out of 14 teams at  the Battle of Primm. Casey Noble shot an 11-over 83 for the Mustangs  and is tied for 38th heading into the final round.

Bruyeres paces Mustangs at Polk City

POLK CITY - William Bruyeres of Mount Mercy fired rounds of 70 and 72 to tie for fifth place at the GV Viking Classic at the Tournament Club of Iowa course in Polk City.

Andre Beccera of Bellevue and Cody Holck of Morningside tied for medalist honors Tuesday at 140, with Bruyeres just two shots behind.

Philip Nelson of Mount Mercy tied for 10th place. The Mustangs finished third in the team standings, 21 shots behind Bellevue.
