Mount Mercy - Women's Golf

Monson paces Mount Mercy golfers

Meg Monson of Mount Mercy shot a 10-over-par 82 Saturday and is tied for fourth place after the first round of the Mount Mercy Invitational at Hunters Ridge.

Vrishali Sinha of Grinnell has the lead with a 2-over 74.

Grinnell has an eight-shot lead over Viterbo heading into Sunday's final round. Mount Mercy stands in fourth place.

Schlueter paces Mustangs at MCC golf

RIVERSIDE - Matt Schlueter of Mount Mercy tied for second place at the Midwest Collegiate Conference men's golf tournament Wednesday with a 54-hole score of 4-under-par 212 at the Blue Top Ridge course in Riverside.

Schlueter fired rounds of 70, 72 and 70. He finished one shot behind Jay Monahan of Grand View, who claimed medalist honors at 5-under 211

Jamie Booth of Mount Mercy placed sixth at 1-under 215 and Jack South finished ninth at 1-over 217.

Grand View won the men's title. Mount Mercy finished third, 12 shots off the pace.

Mount Mercy - Women's Golf

Monson leads MCC women's golf tourney

RIVERSIDE - Meg Monson of Mount Mercy fired a 4-over-par 76 Tuesday to grab the 18-hole lead at the Midwest Collegiate Conference women's golf tournament at Blue Top Ridge in Riverside.

The final round begins Wednesday at 8 a.m.

William Penn leads the standings by eight shots over Grand View. Mount Mercy is tied for fourth in the seven-team field.

Mount Mercy women win golf title

PEOSTA - Madison Goodfellow and Meg Monson both shot 6-over-par 77's Sunday to help Mount Mercy take top honors at the Loras Spring Invitational at Thunder Hills Country Club in Peosta.

Goodfellow was declared the winner on the score sheet and Monson was listed in second place. Kelsey Dircks shot an 81 for the Mustangs.

Mount Mercy beat Clarke by five shots, 333 to 338, in the seven-team field.

Monson third at Mount Mercy invite

Meg Monson of Mount Mercy shot an 85 Sunday in the final round of the Mount Mercy Spring Invitational at Hunters Ridge to finish in for third place.

Monson shot an 81 on Saturday and finished at 166, two shots behind winner Danielle Ducklow of Viterbo. Erin Isaacson  of Viterbo was second at 165.

The 1-2 finish led Viterbo to the team title at 676, 28 shots ahead of runner-up Clarke. Mount Mercy ended up fifth and Coe finished ninth. Madi Goodfellow of Mount Mercy shot an two-day total of 171 to finish ninth.

Bethany Lehman led Coe with a 183.
