Salter helps Mustang women top Grace

Cally Salter scored three goals to lead the Mount Mercy women’s soccer team in a 5-1 win over Grace on Friday at HECO Field at Xavier High School.

Amy McGlynn scored a goal to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute with an assist by Sam Blowers. Salter then scored her hat trick with goals in the 16th, 27th and 58th minutes. Megan Hall and Lizzy Fowler had assists, and one of Salter's goals was unassisted.

Grace scored in the 68th minute, and Maisey McCoy finished the scoring with an unassisted goal for Mount Mercy in the 88th minute.

Mount Mercy out-shot Grace 21-4, and Hannah Schroeder had one save for the Mustangs.

Mount Mercy improved to 4-7-2, while Grace fell to 2-9.

Mount Mercy women tie Clarke

DUBUQUE - The Mount Mercy and Clarke women's soccer teams played for 110 minutes Saturday and nobody won.

The match ended in a 1-1 tie in double-overtime.

Jenny Wicks gave Clarke a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute. It stayed that way until Megan Hall tallied in the 89th minute for Mount Mercy on an assist from Annie Feltes.

Olivia Ramsey made two saves in goal for the Mustangs.

The tie left Mount Mercy with a 3-7-2 record. Clark is 1-9-2.

Chargers rally to kick Mount Mercy

Mount Mercy held a 2-0 lead at halftime only to see visiting Briar Cliff score four unanswered goals in the second half for a 4-2 win on Sunday at Heco Field.

Megan Hall and Aminah Baloch scored for the Mustangs within the first 20 minutes of play to put the Mustangs up 2-0. Hall also assisted on Baloch's tally.

But Briar Cliff (3-3) got goals from four different players in the second half to secure the victory.

Mount Mercy splits soccer with Dordt

SIOUX CENTER - The Mount Mercy soccer teams split their matches with Dordt College Saturday in Sioux Center.

The Mount Mercy men's team won its sixth straight match with a 3-1 victory over Dordt. Marco Fichtner scored twice for the Mustangs and Yinka Ajibola also found the net for Mount Mercy. Mohammed Hamed and Kevon Farqharson collected assists.

The Mount Mercy women's team fell to 3-4-1 for the season with a 5-1 loss to Dordt. Aminah Baloch scored for the Mustangs.

Coe women's soccer moves to 5-0

Jordan Holmes scored in the third minute and Hannah Torry added a tally in the 35th minute at the Coe women's soccer team moved to 5-0 Wednesday with a 2-0 win over Mount Mercy at Heco Field.

Danielle Dahl assisted on Torry's goal

MJ Winterer picked up the shutout in goal for the Kohawks, stopping all three shots she faced.

The Mustangs are 3-3-1.
