J-Hawks get the (tie)breaks in win over Cougars

Jefferson won three third-set tiebreakers and pulled out a 6-3 win over Kennedy in boys tennis Tuesday at Kennedy.

Zach Denny and David Shuman won tiebreakers in singles for the J-Hawks to help Jefferson to a 4-2 lead. Caleb Pfeil and Bruce Croy teamed to win a tiebreaker in doubles.

Jacob Donald and Daniel Britton won singles and doubles matches for the J-Hawks.

Donald, Britton lead Jeff boys to tennis win

IOWA CITY - Jacob Donald and Daniel Britton teamed up to win a crucial doubles match that lifted Jefferson past Iowa City High, 5-4, Monday in boys tennis.

Donald, Britton, David Shuman and Caleb Pfeil all won singles matches, giving the J-Hawks a 4-2 lead.

Donald and Britton disposed of their doubles opponent by scores of 6-0 and 6-1.

Jefferson - Boys Tennis

Washington boys beat J-Hawk netters

Washington won all but one match and beat Jefferson, 8-1, Tuesday in boys tennis at Jefferson.

Washington's Mitch Blades beat Jacob Donald in tiebreaker in a spirited match at No.1 singles.

Blades. Jackson Hoyt, Reid Rossberger, Grant Kamin and Oliver Hammond all won a pair of matches for Washington.

Daniel Britton notched the J-Hawks' lone win in singles.

Jeff boys split with Metro foes

The Jeefferson boys split a pair of tennis meets against Metro foes Saturday.

The J-Hawks fell to Linn-Mar, 8-1, then bounced back with a 9-0 pasting of Prairie.

Caleb Pfeil and Bruce Croy teamed for the J-Hawks only win against Linn-Mar.

Jefferson - Boys Tennis

Jeff boys blanked by Iowa City West netters

Powerful Iowa City West won all nine matches Thursday and knocked off Jefferson, 9-0, in boys tennis at Jefferson.

The J-Hawks won 15 games and did not take a set. West won 108 games and all 18 sets.
